C-Fix - The innovative addition to construction materials
Our mission at C-Fix bv is to deliver products that combine superior performance with unique environmental benefits. The use of C-Fix Carbon Concrete offers demonstrable performance and economic advantages with environmental benefits that include significant CO2 savings.

C-Fix bv is a joint venture between Royal Dutch/Shell Group and UKM Ltd. The C-fix product (Carbon Concrete binder) is developed and patented by Royal Dutch/Shell Group and is brought to the market exclusively by C-Fix B.V.

C-Fix – Carbon Concrete
C-Fix is a thermoplastic binder. When mixed with aggregates, sand and filler, forms carbon concrete. The resulting composite, depending on mix, combines the qualities and advantages of asphalt (flexibility) with cement concrete (strength).

Cost and performance benefits;
Case studies show C-Fix Carbon concrete outperforming other composites;
C-Fix based composites exceed the performance of cement concrete in specific wet and dry applications and C-Fix benefits from the ease of application using asphalt techniques. C-Fix carbon concrete has significant cost advantages over other composites.

CO2 emission reduction;
The application of 1 ton of C-Fix prevents the emission of 4.5 tons of CO2 when replacing cement as a binder in concrete mix. Cement production is the second-largest source of industrial CO2.

Reduction of harmful pollutants;
In addition to fixing CO2 and sulphur, the use of C-Fix carbon concrete prevents the production of sulphur dioxide [SO2], nitrous oxides [NOx] and carbon monoxide [CO], which contribute to global warming, acidification and eutrophication.

Reducing depletion of natural resources
C-Fix carbon concrete is 100% recyclable
Approximately 1.6 tons of limestone and shale are required to produce 1 ton of cement. C-Fix Carbon concrete does NOT require fresh water in the mixing process whereas cement concrete uses 180 litres of water for every cubic metre of cement concrete.
